The Victim's Voice in the Criminal Justice Process
Key decision makers, including judges, have specific mandates in the Code of Criminal Procedure regarding Victim Impact Statements. The Victim Impact Statement is key to ensuring victims are afforded important rights throughout the criminal justice process. “The Victim’s Voice in the Criminal Justice Process” Victim Impact Statement training focuses on the importance of the Victim Impact Statement at key stages of the criminal justice process. The training discusses the legal responsibilities of various agencies regarding the Victim Impact Statement and offers ideas for closing any gaps that may exist between criminal justice agencies that process the Victim Impact Statement. The registration fee, though voluntary, pays for expenses not legislatively covered by the allotment to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals grant. The voluntary registration fee for this conference is $35.***FOR JUDGES ONLY***
